"Rebalancing Globalization: Perspectives from the Global South" attempts to provide a framework for the next phase of globalization that is rebalanced and sustainable and can address issues that matter to the Global South. With the rise of the Global South, the prevailing paradigm of globalization is increasingly being challenged. The next period of the global economy – a rebalanced globalization – will require leadership from countries of the Global South to refocus on pressing developmental challenges facing the world today. This volume explores key objectives of a rebalanced globalization – growth and employment, trade and supply chains, and energy transition – and instruments to achieve them, including reform of global institutions, sustainable financing and inclusive digitalization, from the perspective of the Global South.

The NRC is already experimenting and making improvements in reducing licensing review times without changing the diligence or substance of its evaluations, and the results are promising. If the projected volume of applications materializes, the NRC will need to continue to apply the new approaches it has begun using, as well as seek out additional efficiencies. This paper lays out actionable recommendations on what NRC can do now—under existing statutory authority—to further compress schedules while preserving safety, due process, and analytical quality.
