BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2018

As the energy landscape continues to transform – from the rapid growth rates of low-carbon fuels to questions about the future of oil demand to a more integrated global gas market – it is important to understand the trends and developments driving this change. Please join the Center on Global Energy Policy for a presentation and discussion of the BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2018 with Spencer Dale, BP’s Group Chief Economist. After the presentation, CGEP Founding Director, Jason Bordoff will moderate a conversation with Mr. Dale and George David Banks, CGEP Adjunct Research Scholar. Registration is required. Guests unable to attend can view a livestream of the event at http://energypolicy.columbia.edu/livestream. A podcast of this event will be available ~12 days after the date of the event through iTunes and our website. This event is open to press. On November 6, 2025, in the lead-up to the annual UN Conference of the Parties (COP30), the Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia University SIPA convened a roundtable on project-based carbon credit markets (PCCMs) in São Paulo, Brazil—a country that both hosted this year’s COP and is well-positioned to shape the next phase of global carbon markets by leveraging its experience in nature-based solutions.
