Women in Energy Site Visit: Solidia Technologies

The Center on Global Energy Policy’s Women in Energy program is organizing an overview and tour of Solidia Technologies in Piscataway, NJ. This tour is open to all students and Women in Energy professional members. About Solidia Technologies is a cement and concrete technology company with patented scientific systems that makes it easy and profitable to use CO₂ to create better building, construction, and industrial products. The technology has the potential to eliminate a minimum of 1.5 gigatonnes of CO₂ each year. Solidia provides two core technologies: 1) A sustainable cement manufacturing technology, which can be produces in traditional cement kilns using less energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions during manufacture by 30-40%. 2) A sustainable concrete curing technology, curing concrete with CO₂ instead of water, permanently and safety consuming 240 kg of CO₂, and potentially saving 3 trillion liters of fresh water every year.  Attire: Business Casual, closed toed shoes (no flip-flops or sandals) Transportation will be provided. Please arrive at the Center on Global Energy Policy not later than 8:15am to sign in. The bus will depart at 8:30am sharp. Registration is required. Space is limited.
