The energy sector, with its diverse disciplines and global impact, has been shaped by a wide spectrum of innovators who have contributed significantly to promoting energy equity and addressing the social and economic justice issues related to climate change and the energy transition.
This Black History Month, join the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA and Community Offshore Wind to celebrate the achievements of Black pioneers and leaders in the energy field. Together, we’ll explore their historical legacy and the breadth of their progress, engaging in discussions on vital topics such as energy justice, racial equity in climate policies, and improving living conditions in underserved communities. Moreover, we’ll brainstorm solutions to ensure that future leaders have the awareness and access to educational opportunities necessary to drive progress in the energy sector.
