Among the challenging issues confronting India and the economically dynamic south Asian countries are the need for significant LNG imports, the prospective TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline and global competition for energy resources. Dr. Moily has held a number of important government positions, including being Minster of Power and Corporate Affairs; Chairman of the Administrative Reform Commission; and Chief Minister of Karnataka state. As Chief Minister, he laid the foundation for the explosive world challenging growth of the Indian IT sector in Bangalore. Dr. Moily is also a noted author having written acclaimed epic Indian poem, Sri Ramayana Mahanveshanam. This event is sponsored by the Harriman Institute and the Center on Global Energy Policy.
