Jack Cavanaugh is a Senior Research Associate leading the Carbon Management Research Initiative. His work focuses on policies and regulations that will incentivize decarbonization, global competitiveness and domestic energy security in the fossil fuel industry. He and his team conduct research, analysis and communicate the results to industry, policymakers, and key constituencies around the world, with a focus on pragmatic, passable policy and regulations. Formerly, Jack ran the carbon management policy program at Breakthrough Energy, as an energy policy analyst for Climate Reality Projected and worked in distributed generation for Duke Energy. He has a Masters in Environmental Science and a Masters in Public Affairs from the O’Neill School at Indiana University and a Bachelors in Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
