Presentation and Discussion on U.S. Energy Policy in an Era of Expanding Oil and Gas Supplies

Past Event

February 14, 2013

11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University invites you to join a discussion with the Energy Research Policy Foundation (EPRINC). EPRINC will present current findings from its recently launched “Embassy Series,” a program that works directly with the Washington diplomatic community and offers an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of U.S. energy policy in an era of expanding U.S. supplies of oil and gas. Please join us for a presentation by EPRINC leadership followed by a moderated discussion. For more information, please contact Jesse McCormick at [email protected] About EPRINC: The Energy Policy Research Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in 1944, that publishes research on developments in U.S. and world energy markets. All publications are made available free of charge and can be found on their website: www.eprinc.org. EPRINC has been a source of expertise for numerous government studies and its chairman and president have served on virtually every National Petroleum Council study of oil and gas issues. EPRINC routinely testifies before Congress and is now engaged on a long-term assessment of the economic and strategic implications of the North American petroleum renaissance (partially funded by the U.S. Department of Defense). Research efforts for 2013 will include an assessment of petroleum developments throughout the Western Hemisphere including Brazil, Columbia, and Argentina.

Renewing Fashion: Clean Energy and the Circular Economy

The fashion industry is a major energy consumer and contributor to climate change. To achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, the industry must transition into a circular economy from its current fossil fuel-based production and linear produce-use-dispose model.
