Global Oil Market Update

The Center on Global Energy Policy hosted a discussion with Antoine Halff, Head of the Oil Industry & Markets Division at the International Energy Agency (IEA) and editor of the IEA’s monthly Oil Market Report and Medium-Term Oil Market Report. Drawing on the findings of both those publications, Mr. Halff discussed the current status of the global oil market, focusing on the interplay of oil supply and geopolitics, the evolution of demand, the transformation of the midstream and downstream industries (refining, transportation and storage) and what it all means for the global oil supply chain, oil prices and energy security.
