Ahmed Mehdi

Non-Resident Fellow

Biography

Ahmed Mehdi is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. Alongside his role at CGEP, Ahmed serves as an advisor to numerous energy companies and trading houses. He is also a Principal Advisor at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, where he has worked with government teams (US Department of Energy), banks, energy companies, and investors involved in the lithium-ion battery supply chain.

Ahmed acted as a consultant advisor to BHP Petroleum and has spent over a decade working in the fields of corporate strategy, energy finance, and pricing intelligence. He regularly writes and comments on energy issues in the media, including the Financial Times, the New York Times, Bloomberg, S&P Global Platts, the Wall Street Journal, and the Middle East Economic Survey (MEES).

He holds degrees from the University of Oxford (St Antonys College) and University College London.
