Join us for a conversation with Carlos Curbelo, a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy and Former Representative of Florida’s 26th Congressional District, on current issues in energy and climate change. From the role that such issues are playing in the presidential campaign and current bi-partisan policy proposals in Congress, to the evolving domestic political landscape and the implications of the upcoming international COP25 meeting in Madrid, this event will touch on the major stories of the day. The conversation will be moderated by Jason Bordoff, Founding Director of the Center on Global Energy Policy. — Guests unable to attend in person can register to view a livestream of the event by accessing the registration link below. Regulatory Progress for Project-Based Carbon Credit Markets: Pre-COP30 Roundtable Summary

On November 6, 2025, in the lead-up to the annual UN Conference of the Parties (COP30), the Center on Global Energy Policy (CGEP) at Columbia University SIPA convened a roundtable on project-based carbon credit markets (PCCMs) in São Paulo, Brazil—a country that both hosted this year’s COP and is well-positioned to shape the next phase of global carbon markets by leveraging its experience in nature-based solutions.
