BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2017

As the energy landscape continues to transform — from the rapid growth rates of low-carbon fuels to questions about the future of oil demand to a more integrated global gas market –it is important to understand the trends and developments driving this change. Please join the Center on Global Energy Policy for a presentation on BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy 2017 with Spencer Dale, Group Chief Economist. After the presentation, CGEP Director Jason Bordoff will moderate a conversation where Mr. Dale will be joined by Antoine Halff, Sr. Research Scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy, and Amy Myers Jaffe, Executive Director of Energy and Sustainability at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. Registration is required to attend in person. It will be livestreamed at energypolicy.columbia.edu/watch. This event is open to press. President Donald Trump has made energy a clear focus for his second term in the White House. Having campaigned on an “America First” platform that highlighted domestic fossil-fuel growth, the reversal of climate policies and clean energy incentives advanced by the Biden administration, and substantial tariffs on key US trading partners, he declared an “energy emergency” on his first day in office.
