Departmental Research Assistant II

Description

Center on Global Energy Policy Departmental Research Assistants II (DRAs) are given a wide range of assignments to support the research and activities of this growing research department. Responsibilities may include conducting research under the direction of our Scholars, data analysis and visualization, generating and presenting research data, drafting written work for publication, providing operational support through coordination with other CGEP teams (including assisting researchers with public and private event planning), attending meetings and events, notetaking in private workshops, and other related tasks.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible, students must be enrolled full-time in a Columbia University graduate program and hold valid work authorization. Note: there are no restrictions on which year, program, or School a student is in; the only requirement is full-time enrollment in a graduate program. Incoming students are eligible to apply.

Ideal candidates should have experience with data analysis, data visualization, presentation preparation, and a strong interest in energy-related topics. Please see the descriptions below for unit-specific requirements, and only select the positions you are eligible for when you submit your application.

Hours and Compensation (Summer 2024)

Departmental Research Assistantships will be appointed for the Spring semester with an expected commitment of 15 hours per week and a salary of $6,489 for the semester (the expected number of hours per week and salary may change pending Union guidelines). Start Date: 05/16/2024 (pending onboarding completion and work-authorization dates) End Date: 08/31/2024 (pending work-authorization dates)
