The following color-coded campus status levels have been developed to simplify communication regarding the current circumstances on and around the Morningside campus. The campus status level is based upon the potential disruption to our academic mission and/or campus operations. The status level will be adjusted up or down to reflect then-current circumstances, including information received from law enforcement and other sources regarding potential events that could affect Columbia. Continued adherence to university rules and policies remains fundamental to maintaining an open campus. Read more.

Donnie Johnson Sackey

Biography

Donnie Johnson Sackey is an assistant professor of rhetoric & writing at the University of Texas at Austin. Previously, he was a founding member and senior researcher with Detroit Integrated Vision for Environmental Research through Science and Engagement (D•VERSE) and affiliated senior research with Michigan State University’s Writing in Digital Environments (WIDE) center. Additionally, he served as an executive board member for the Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, which works to achieve a clean, healthy, and safe environment for Michigan’s most vulnerable residents in alignment with the Principles of Environmental Justice. His research centers on the dynamics of environmental public policy deliberation, environmental justice, and environmental community-based participatory research.
