Research Analyst at the World Resources Institute
Zachary Byrum is a research analyst at the World Resources Institute, where he explores options for deep decarbonization in industry, such as carbon capture and storage and low-carbon fuels. Previously, he was a research assistant in CGEP’s Carbon Management Research Initiative while studying to obtain his master of public administration in environmental science and policy at SIPA. In that role, he provided support on technology and policy analysis for emission abatement and carbon capture and storage. Before that, he came from an economics and policy background, working as an assistant analyst at the Congressional Budget Office and an intern in the White House’s National Economic Council under President Obama, after receiving his bachelor of arts from Goucher College.
New policies are needed to achieve the net-zero emissions required to address climate change.
