Director of Public Affairs
Kevin Fitzmaurice is Director of Public Affairs at the Center on Global Energy Policy, Columbia University SIPA.
Prior to joining the CGEP team, Kevin was a Vice President on Edelman’s DC Energy Team, working with private and public sector clients at Fortune 500 companies and within the US Department of Energy. Prior to Edelman, he was a Communications Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, where he served as Public Affairs Lead for DOE’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), coordinating media strategy and public rollout of news and announcements related to the agency’s early stage clean energy R&D funding. Prior to Booz Allen Hamilton, Kevin was Research Coordinator for the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee during the 2018 midterm election cycle, and a crisis Communications Consultant for Conover+Gould Strategic Communications. Kevin began his career in energy in 2013 as a political appointee in the Obama Administration, serving as Special Advisor to U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest Moniz, and Special Assistant in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. He also worked as an Operations Associate in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Business from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
