At a time when policymakers worldwide are re-assessing global net-zero targets and international climate goals, political shifts are driving rapid changes in energy and industrial policy. These shifts have raised questions about how leaders will continue to address the needs of the ever-accelerating global energy transition, while navigating complex security, competitiveness, and geopolitical dynamics.
At Climate Week NYC, the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA and the SIPA Institute of Global Politics will host a high-level program, The Future of US and Global Energy Policy, featuring conversations on how recent policy shifts are impacting domestic and global energy policy, and how industrial leaders are navigating the headwinds and tailwinds of this shifting global policy landscape.
The program will feature:
Opening Remarks from Jason Bordoff, Founding Director, The Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia SIPA; and Faculty Advisory Board Member, the SIPA Institute of Global Politics
A panel discussion with the Hon. Roger Martella, Chief Sustainability Officer and Chief Corporate Officer at GE Vernova; Jannicke Nilsson, Executive Vice President Safety, Security & Sustainability at Equinor; and Vaishali Sinha, Cofounder & Chairperson – Sustainability, ReNew, titled Global Energy and Industrial Policy: Navigating a Complex Geopolitical Landscape
A fireside chat with U.S. Congressman Sean Casten, IL-06, titled, U.S. Energy and Climate Policy: Where Do We Go From Here?
A networking cocktail reception will follow the program.
