Partner, McKinsey & Company, Houston
Kassia is a partner and leader in McKinsey’s global energy and sustainability platforms and co-leads McKinsey’s global energy private equity practice. Previously, she led McKinsey’s Oil & Gas strategy practice in the Americas.
Kassia has nearly 25 years of experience in the energy sector, with expertise spanning corporate strategy, structured finance, capital projects, and principal investing. She leads McKinsey’s global initiative on energy transition financing, supporting private capital and industrial company partnerships accelerate investments at scale.
In 2020, Kassia was honored as one of the 50 most powerful women in oil & gas by the National Diversity Council. In 2019, she founded Advancing Women Executives (AWE), a McKinsey partnership with industry leaders aiming to accelerate the number of women CEOs in the energy sector and other underrepresented industries.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Kassia founded Tana Energy Capital, an energy investment and advisory firm, and was an investment professional at Hudson Clean Energy Partners, one of the first renewable energy infrastructure PE funds. Previously, she worked at BP Plc and at Bechtel Enterprises, the project finance arm of Bechtel Corporation. She has testified before the US Congress and published articles in Foreign Affairs and elsewhere on energy topics. In 2005, she served in the White House as an advisor on energy at the National Economic Council.
Kassia has a BA in government from the University of Virginia, MBA from Stanford University, and MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She also serves on a steering committee for the Greater Houston Partnership’s Energy Transition Initiative.
