Student Research Worker
Lilian Nassif researches the future of the hydrogen economy at the Center on Global Energy Policy. She has gained expertise in renewable hydrogen through her work with ACWA Power, where she contributed to drafting a green hydrogen regulatory framework for NEOM, and conducting credit and certification research for sustainable aviation fuels. Lilian incubated her energy transition workforce upskilling start-up through Columbia University’s Global Policy Challenge, collaborating with government officials and international climate organizations to enhance workforce readiness in hard-to-abate economies.
Lilian previously worked as an ESG consultant for Patria Investments and worked as a Sustainability Associate, designing decarbonization strategies for public and private companies across the GCC. Her experience is enriched by her time as a Fulbright Scholar in Argentina, her work with the Embassy of Bahrain in the U.S., and her research at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C.
Currently at Columbia University, she combines her background in environmental governance with an intercultural lens to address the political, strategic, and economic development gaps of integrating climate technologies to accelerate the energy transition.
