The Center on Global Energy Policy and The Harriman Institute hosted a lecture and discussion with Memduh Karakullukcu, Vice Chairman & President, Global Relations Forum. Alexander Cooley, Professor of Political Science, Barnard College, and Deputy Director of The Harriman Institute, provided reactions and commentary following the presentation. Mr. Karakullukcu discussed how the evolution of oil and gas markets will impact energy security, prices, and trade and investment structures, focusing in particular on Turkey's role as a "transit" country. He also examined the role of new energy technologies and how policies can help promote cross-border collaboration and investment. He concluded with a discussion on the role nuclear energy can play in Turkey's energy supply.
