The Center on Global Energy Policy hosted a lecture and discussion with Daniel C. Esty, Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), and Richard L. Kauffman, Chairman, Energy and Finance for New York and Chairman, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Commissioner Esty and Chairman Kauffman discussed current trends and innovative approaches to clean energy deployment at the state level, including the role of green banks and other financing mechanisms, net metering, utility regulation reform, and distributed generation, among others. The event also looked at how activities at the state level, both policy and investment, can help influence the national agenda.  Travis Bradford, Associate Professor and Director of the Energy and Environment Concentration,  Columbia University | SIPA, moderated the event.
